Terrorism

As I write this in May 2007 the War on Terror is being won by the terrorists. They are adaptive, not centralized, willing to die for their belief system.

This is an unequal war simply because we, in the civilized world, do not believe what the terrorists are saying and doing. They have started a cultural and religious war.

Their tactics are such that we are incapable of stopping them simply due to the belief that if we acted as they did we would “lose” this war because we would have abandoned our basic civilized principles.

That position is simple nonsense and we only have to look back as recently as WWII to realize that the “civilized” Allied Powers adopted explicit mass killing of civilians to win that war. The fire bombings of German and Japanese cities are clear examples.

This country is now following a scenario very similar to the one that preceded WWII. It took the attack on Pearl Harbor to galvanize the American public and trigger the release of the Species Protective mechanism. Please read Konrad Lorenz, On Aggression.

Another attack with massive damage may release our nation from this protective mechanism and there may be a cascading effect with catastrophic destruction of the Muslim world.
